Axel Ermert studied Sociology and Information Science in Berlin. Takes an interest in the whole information field, and in it particularly in the area of “Documentation”. 1978-1994 member of the staff of the German Standards Institute DIN (Committees on Library Science/Documentation, and on Terminology), and of the corresponding Committees of the International Organisation for Standardization ISO (TC 46 Documentation; Terminology; Country Codes). Former staff member of the “Institute for Museum Research – State Museums Berlin – Prussian Heritage”, in the area of museum documentation and EU projects. Continues to work as an expert in DIN and ISO Committees (Documenta-tion; Terminology; Preservation of the cultural heritage).
